Cinque Terre day 2

Last night's dinner ..

This morning it was cloudy so we decided to explore La Spezia... a town  just before the Cinque Terre. We heard there was a market there on Fridays so we took the train. It was a hoot!! Like the Richmond Night market :) But there were some nattily dressed Italian ladies digging through piles of €5 bins buying clothes. There were some nice shirts, sweaters etc but not great enough for me to lug home in my carryon. 

Went back to our place in Riomaggiore then onto the train to Corniglia. 

We were doing the hike from Corniglia to Monterosso but the weather was not great and we decided an hour and half up and down was enough for today so we finished at Vernazza

Once again it was cloudy and über humid... deja vu.. sweating and fogged glasses 

Our final stop for the day ... Vernazza 

We waited for 30 minutes for the train back to Riomaggiore  but when it came it was going the wrong way :( We changed tracks but had to wait another 30 minutes ... all for an 8 minute ride...lol

It's not just us .....all the tourists get a chuckle and say " whatever train comes that's where we'll go" The train schedules in this area are impossible to read and the trains are always late 

Dinner tonight....  in our tiny room ... eating  on our bed...lol. But tastes great!!
