Since Monaco is not in Italy we had to take an hr bus ride to the border. It was only listed as 14 kms but the road winds endlessly along the coast so it takes forever. Then we caught a French train for the last section.
Monaco is the second smallest independent state in the world... the smallest being the Vatican. It is for the uber rich and it has so much packed into a tiny area.
Monte Carlo Casino. Inside it was so ornate and "old school" opulent with high ceilings and huge Austrian crystal chandeliers but no photos allowed.
Should I take the gold Ferrari
Or the white Lamborghini
Or would I be interested in a one of a kind matching diamond and sapphire necklace, ring, earrings and watch ....no price listed. Apparently if I need to ask I can't afford it.. lol
This hotel across from the Casino would accommodate us with a double room for only $1224 a night
The view from the old town on the hill.
The infamous hairpin turn on the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
It's the one at the top left of this photo.... that I didn't take ;) We walked most of the course just for me to see it !!
The Monaco boat show had just ended when we got there but one of the ads said that ultra luxury yachts were now passé and they were selling million dollar submarines !!!!
Check another off my bucket list ;)
It was an experience and I really enjoyed the day ... the lifestyles of the rich and famous !!

Wow Sue, thats quite the place. Younstill, look fresh in your nice crisp white blouse.
ReplyDeleteFantastic to see the course. Life is good so enjoy it all. We enjoy reading and seeing the pictures.
It's a good thing the pictures are not close up. It's a no-iron blouse so it's not wrinkled but we have been doing our laundry in the bathroom sink so it's more off white now ..lol
