Sorrento.... Amalfi Coast

Laundry day... :(
Yesterday we sussed out a "laundromat" not far from here. We were there early and glad we were. If you want to make money in Europe it seems you just need to open up one of these places . 2 of the 5 washers were

There was a constant lineup of people wanting to use the facilities. Some waited for more than an hr. We paid $24 for 2 loads !!

We wandered a bit to see Sorrento.... it doesn't take long....lol.  So we decided to do a walk/hike to see St. Agnes Church at the top of a limestone bluff. Once again I haven't had a vegetable for a long time .... unless you count the sun dried tomato that was on my cold pizza for breakfast. I thought this might burn off some of the delicious breads, pizzas and pasta !!!
We climbed 1000 feet up. It was steep but felt pretty good.

After an hour we reached our destination and there were buses and cabs and a little town....go figure. We had no idea any of it was there. We were expecting only a church on the hill.

Mt Vesuvius

It is Sunday so not much open but we did find a place to share a beer and a snack.

And we went back down the same way through small streets

Dinner tonight... mussels for Ron, shrimp for me...delicious :) and of course, Italian wine

  1. What an interesting place. Laundry day is the pits.
But now you can enjoy the scenery and the food.
It poured rain all day so it was a boring day.
